She Thought Her Dad Was Napping Alone — But Then She Saw Who Was Cuddled Beside Him

When Catey Hall stopped by her dad’s house in rural Alabama, she expected to find him dozing on the couch. But what she didn’t expect was the furry company he kept during his naps.

“Dad sees, plays with and naps with one or more of these dogs on a daily basis,” Catey shared. “They come running when they see his car and follow him inside.”

Lon Watson, Catey’s father, has always had a soft spot for dogs. Working closely with the local rescue, Pound on the Hill, he ensures that every stray finds a loving home. Over the years, he and his wife have adopted and rehabilitated several dogs, making their home a haven for canines in need.

But it’s not just their own dogs that enjoy Lon’s company. Neighboring dogs like Hooch, Fluffer-Nutter, and Rosie have formed a special bond with him. They eagerly await his return each day, meeting him in the driveway and accompanying him inside for some quality cuddle time.

“The neighborhood is an unincorporated section of semi-rural Alabama,” Catey explained. “The houses are set far back from the street, so the dogs can bounce from house to house safely.”

Even Catey’s own dogs are enamored with Lon. “As a matter of fact, they try to leave with Dad when he’s here visiting,” she laughed.

It’s clear that Lon has a unique connection with every dog he meets. His gentle nature and unwavering love make him the ultimate napping companion for these furry friends.
